An 18-year-old Allentown man was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of simple assault after he allegedly attacked two individuals around 7:24 p.m. Oct. 19 at Dorney Park, South Whitehall Township.
According to South Whitehall Police Chief Glen Dorney, Jorge Alberto Ortero, allegedly slashed the top of a 14-year-old girl’s left hand with a razor blade.
She sustained a large laceration requiring treatment at St. Luke’s, Allentown.
Ortero allegedly fled the scene immediately after the assault, but was followed by another patron, who detained him until security and police could respond.
Ortero allegedly bit the Good Samaritan twice on the left hand, and once on the right shoulder, resulting in minor injuries, also requiring medical attention at St. Luke’s, Allentown.
According Lehigh County Criminal Court records, Ortero was arraigned Oct. 20 before District Judge Rashid Santiago, Allentown.
Bail was set at $20,000. He was released from Lehigh County Jail after posting bail on Oct. 20.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Nov. 7 before District Judge Jake Hammond, South Whitehall Township.
