CATASAUQUA BOROUGH COUNCIL, FOUR-YEAR TERM
Five candidates are seeking four available four-year seats on Catasauqua Borough Council.
Cameron Smith, Brian Bartholomew, Brian McKittrick, Eugene H. Schlegel and Jessica Kroope are vying for the positions.
We asked the candidates the following question:
What qualities do you believe voters are looking for in a council member?
Their responses follow.
Democrat/Republican
Cameron Smith
I feel the type of qualities Catasauqua voters are looking for in a candidate would be someone who is open minded, goal oriented, original, efficient, resourceful, a listener, knowledgeable, unbiased, tactful, decisive, cooperative, thrifty, persistent, energetic, inquisitive, level-headed, observant, cautious and, most importantly, someone who is fresh. To me, it is critical that the people of Catasauqua have an option when it comes time to vote on Nov. 5.
Democrat/Republican
Brian McKittrick
Residents should consider a candidate that has experience, leadership quality, integrity and be logical.
Residents should also attend council meetings and gain firsthand knowledge of issues facing the borough and them.
Secondhand information most times is not accurate.
Republican
Jessica Kroope
An elected official’s job is to be a public servant. Good moral compass, creativity, dedication, empathy, understanding of borough code and excellent business sense - all qualities I believe I possess, currently apply and will continue to apply to my position as a Catasauqua council member. Community, my neighbors and the town of Catasauqua are all very important to me, as I have chosen to raise my family here. As a voice for you on council, I’ve been actively representing you with proven leadership and will work hard to continue to serve you for the next four years.
Democrat Bartholomew and Republican Schlegel did not respond.
