School board approves resignations, appointments

During the Oct. 14 Whitehall-Coplay School Board meeting, members approved the resignations of Caitlin Gartner, districtwide bus aide; Trevor Pinho, Aevidum Club adviser and Reading Olympics adviser at Whitehall-Coplay Middle School; Cynthia Urso, cafeteria monitor at Gockley Elementary School; Donna Gaetaniello, secretary at Steckel Elementary School; Gianna Neal, paraeducator at Zephyr Elementary; Edward Jordan and Elizabeth Lutz, districtwide bus drivers; and MaryEllen Oroskey, health room paraeducator at WCMS.

New appointments include temporary professional Miranda Dangler, seventh-grade social studies teacher at WCMS, at $50,721; salaried substitute Jeffrey Parks, chemistry teacher at Whitehall High School, at $49,345; salaried substitute Steven Swann, seventh-grade English teacher at WCMS, at $49,345; long-term substitute Kelly Schlechter, second-grade teacher at Steckel Elementary, at $150 per day; long-term substitute Bethany Yurasits, speech and language therapist at Steckel, at $150 per day; Samantha Mehalshick, second-grade learning support teacher at Steckel, at $150 per day; Heather Sullivan, emotional support teacher at Steckel, at $19.15 per hour; Cheyenne Mitchell, sixth-grade inclusion teacher at WCMS, at $19.15 per hour; Shawn Fronheiser, mechanic’s helper, at $20.38 per hour; Brooke Minnich, nurse assistant at WCMS, at $20.27 per hour; and Hiam Araj and Brian Ferencin, bus drivers.

Approved club/extracurricular advisers include Elizabeth Eck, Aevidum Club, and Bethany Lewis, Video Game Club, both pilot programs (compensation not listed); and Courtney Hunsberger, Ski Club, at $700.

Approved coaches include Jeff Brosky, Eric Dogmanits and Corey Frantz, assistant boys basketball coaches, at $4,225 each; Andrew Koefer and James Luchansky, boys basketball volunteer assistant coaches; Thomas Keppel, WCMS boys assistant basketball coach, at $2112.50; James Price and Steve Swann, WCMS boys assistant basketball coaches, at $1,056.25 each; Myla Firth, Nicole Umbenhauer and Martin Donohue, assistant girls basketball coaches, at $4,225 each; Angela Bertola, Taylor Bess, Joseph Krempasky and Mary Lisicky; volunteer assistant girls basketball coaches; Anthony Pagan, WCMS girls assistant basketball coach, at $4,225; Richard Kern and Stephanie Snyder, WCMS volunteer girls basketball assistant coaches; Mark Freeman and David Seeloff, assistant swimming coaches, at $2,999 each; Doug Bonshak and Ryan Heimback, assistant wrestling coaches, at $3,954 each; Joseph Attieh, Frank Piff, Luke Roth, Frank Rudolph and Shane Schmeckenbecker, volunteer assistant wrestling coaches; and James Kurtz, assistant field hockey coach, at $1,227.
