District News: Gockley Halloween parade is Oct. 25

Gockley Elementary School will celebrate Halloween Oct. 25. The costume parade begins 9:30 a.m. in front of the school. Students will walk around the macadam circle in front of the building.

All parents are asked to stand on the grass that is bordered by macadam. This will enable everyone to see the parade and take pictures.

All students should wear their costumes to school that day. Please have costumes that are simple and require minimal assistance. Costumes must be in good taste and not depict violence.

In the event of rain, the parade will be held in the gym and in the cafeteria. Parents will line up against the cafeteria and gym walls to view the parade of costumed characters.

Refrain from parking in front of the school or along the grass. For this event, use the parking lot by the football stadium.

Thank you - your cooperation is always appreciated.

Zephyr Elementary’s Pedaling for Pink is continuing! On Tuesdays and Thursdays during October, students and staff will have the opportunity during recess to ride a stationary bike to raise money for cancer. It is a friendly competition between fourth and fifth grades.

Students are competing for the most miles pedaled throughout the month. It costs $1 to pedal for one minute. Students can participate as much as they would like.

It has always been a huge success, and Zephyr Elementary donates the money to Angel 34 Foundation to help families battling cancer.
