A high-speed chase Oct. 9 in Whitehall resulted in a two-vehicle crash and the apprehension of a driver.
According to the report, at 1:09 a.m., a Whitehall police officer patrolling southbound on MacArthur Road was passed by a vehicle traveling at an excessive speed.
The officer tried to catch the vehicle; however, it crashed with another vehicle near the intersection of MacArthur Road and Mickley Road (south) before the officer could try to stop it.
The driver then fled on foot but was caught shortly after, police said.
Both vehicles required towing due to damage.
The driver of the speeding vehicle was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, then to Lehigh County Central Booking Center for arraignment on numerous charges.
The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to St. Luke’s Hospital.
The investigation is continuing, police said.
