District News: Moore Elementary School to host trunk or treat

Moore Elementary School PTA is sponsoring a trunk or treat 6-9 p.m. Oct. 18 at the school, 2835 Mountain View Drive, Moore Township.

The week of Oct. 21 is National School Bus Safety Week. Various discussions may take place throughout the schools stressing the importance of bus safety.

Parents are also encouraged to discuss with their children the importance of behavior and safety while riding the school bus.

Fall picture retake day at Moore is scheduled for Oct. 25. Make sure to return your original photos for retake.

Students who missed the first picture day can have theirs taken.

The other elementary buildings’ retake days are scheduled in November.

The end of the first marking period is approaching already - Oct. 29! As always, be sure to communicate with your child and his or her teachers. Visit classroom websites, district websites and the Sapphire link to follow your child’s progress and grades.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or school.

Join in for Northampton Area School District’s community resource fair, to be held 5:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at Northampton Area High School, 1619 Laubach Ave.

There are several sessions available. Review the options, and sign up for any sessions you would like to attend.

Need a new mattress? Distributive Education Clubs of America students will hold their sixth annual fundraiser Nov. 9. Come out and shop for a new mattress in a no-pressure environment and with better-than-retail prices. The showroom will display the latest in adjustable bed frames and mattresses in every size, luxury pillows, sheets and even bean bag chairs that convert into youth beds.

Friendly and knowledgeable assistants will answer all your questions. This is a great way to support local DECA students and get better sleep!

Stop by the NAHS auditorium 10 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be a 25-plus-bed showroom filled with all sizes and styles. Name brands like Simmons Beautyrest, Malouf and Symbol are available for up to 50 percent off retail prices.

Watch for area yard signs and for the few lucky NAHS kids who get to wear the mattress suit while promoting the sale to passers-by.

In order to avoid an unlawful absence, don’t forget to fill out an excuse form on the Sapphire portal or send in an excuse with your child within three days of his or her absence.

All medicine - inhalers, EpiPens or medications of any kind - for students must be delivered to the health room by a parent/guardian. Medications should not be sent to school with your child.
