Upper Macungie Township and Keystone Consulting Engineers will host Barktoberfest 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 12 at Upper Macungie Park, 1625 N. Route 100, Fogelsville. Rain date is Oct. 13.

A demonstration by the police K-9 team will be presented 12:30 p.m., with music, activities, giveaways by vendors, a pet parade and costume contest with prizes.

Pet parade registration takes place 11 a.m. to noon at the welcome table. Winners will be announced at 1:10 p.m.

Admission is free. All pets must be on a leash to attend.

Trick or Treat will be 6-8 p.m. Oct. 25. Rain date is Oct. 26.

Parkland Community Library will be offering Lil Builders for kids ages 2 and older with an adult 11 a.m. Oct. 11.

Come and play with the library’s amazing block collection, Magna-Tiles, and more.

Author Devon Taylor will be giving a presentation about his book “The Soul Keepers,” and his newest book “The Ghost Seekers” 1-3 p.m. Oct. 12 in the South Whitehall Township Building, 4444 Walbert Ave.

Books will be available for purchase, and attendees will be able to have them signed.

Baby story time with picture books, rhymes and songs for children ages birth to 2 years is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 14.

A caregiver must attend with each child.

Kid ages 6-12 are invited to drop in anytime between 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 4 p.m. Oct. 19 to create an edible book kit at the Teen Read Week Make and Take Edible Books program.

A Teen Dragons and Dungeon Night for kid’s in grades seven through 12 will take place from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 14.

Book Quest for adults will meet from 7-8 p.m. Oct. 15 to discuss the novel “Midnight’s Children” by Salman Rushdie.

A DIY fun program for adults is being offered 10:30 a.m. Oct. 17.

Toddler story time for children ages 18 months to 3 years with stories, songs and rhymes is will take place 10:30-11 a.m. Oct. 15, 16, 22 and 23.

Discovery Zone for budding scientists ages 3-6 with a caregiver will take place 1-2 p.m. Oct. 15.

The library will be offering a variety of hands-on activity stations designed to promote curiosity, develop early literacy skills, and introduce STEAM concepts in an age appropriate way.

Preschool story time for children 3-5 years of age is scheduled for 1:30-2 p.m. Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24.

A caregiver must remain in the library.

The Young Critics Book Club for kids in fourth to sixth grade will meet 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 to discuss the novel “Ghost” by Raina Telgemeier.

Join Wildlands Conservancy to meet the creatures of the night including owls, snakes, opossums, and hissing cockroaches 11 a.m. to noon Oct. 19.

The library will show the movie “The Searchers” 1 p.m. Oct. 21.

Teen-Frankentoys for kids in fifth through eighth grade will take place 6-7 p.m. Oct. 21.

Create a Frankentoy using old action figures, and stuffed animals.

Unleash your creativity and learn how to decrease stress at the Joy of Coloring class for adults 3 p.m. Oct. 23.

The library staff will provide the coloring pages, and pencils.

The Teen Anime Club for students in grades six through 12 will meet 6:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 23.

Join the library’s knitting and crocheting circle 2-4 p.m. Oct. 24.

Bring knitting materials and spend an afternoon swapping knitting and crocheting tips and tricks.

All ages are welcome to attend.

Registration is needed to attend the author presentation, preschool story time, book clubs, movie, DIY Fun and Teen-Frankentoys programs.
