EPC playoffs matchups set
The EPC announced playoff matchups for soccer and field hockey on Thursday.
In boys soccer, Liberty gets the top seed and a home game against Eastburg South, the 8 seed, on Saturday at 12 p.m.. The winner gets Easton (4) or Stroudsburg (5), who play Saturday in Easton at 10 a.m.
On the bottom of the bracket, Emmaus gets the two seed and hosts seventh-seeded Freedom, last year’s District 11 champs. That game is 2:15 p.m. Saturday with the winner playing the Parkland (3)-Whitehall (6) winner. The Trojans and Zephs play at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parkland.
Round two is Tuesday, Oct. 15, at a site to be determined with games at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The finals take place Thursday, Oct. 17.
In the girls soccer bracket, Parkland gets the top seed and hosts Central, the eighth seed at noon on Saturday. The winner plays the winner of PM East (4)-Easton (5), which play at 10 a.m. Saturday in Easton.
At the bottom, Emmaus is the two-seed and hosts Northampton at 12:15 p.m. Saturday with the winner taking on the winner of Pleasant Valley (3)-Freedom (6), who play at 5 p.m. at PV.
Round two takes place with games at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at a site to be determined with the finals taking place Thursday, Oct. 17.
In field hockey, Emmaus earns the top seed and a date with eighth-seeded Nazareth at 10:30 a.m. in Emmaus. Pocono Mt. East (4) hosts Liberty at 12:30 p.m. Saturday with the winner likely getting the Hornets.
At the bottom, Parkland is the two-seed and will play Stroudsburg at home at 10 a.m. with the winner getting the winner of Easton (3)-Northampton (6), which plays Saturday at 10 a.m. at Easton.
Round two is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. at a site to be determined with finals scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, at a site to be determined.
