Car seat check on Oct. 16

Schweyer

State Rep. Peter Schweyer, D-22nd, and the Allentown Health Bureau are partnering to host a car seat safety check 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 16 at St. Luke’s Church, 417 N. Seventh St., Allentown.

Child passenger safety law requires children under age 4 to be restrained in an approved child safety seat anywhere in the vehicle.

Children under 2 must be secured in a rear-facing car seat until they outgrow the maximum height and weight limits designated by the car seat manufacturer.

Children age 4 through 7 must be restrained in an appropriate booster seat.

Children age 8 to 18 are required to wear a seat belt, though children through age 12, who do not fit in a seat belt properly, are encouraged to remain in a booster seat.

An appointment is not necessary to attend.

For additional information contact Schweyer’s office at 610-791-6270.
