Northampton: Grace UCC to serve halupki dinner

Grace United Church of Christ, 902 Lincoln Ave., will hold a halupki dinner 5-7 p.m. Oct. 12. The meal includes two halupkies, mashed potatoes, roll and butter, a cupcake and a beverage. Takeouts are available.

Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Northampton Area Historical Society will present a talk about the businesses and other historical sites in the fourth ward 10 a.m. Oct. 19 at the municipal building, 1401 Laubach Ave. Larry Oberly, with assistance from Marge Oberly and Terry Reppert, are the speakers.

The society will open the Siegfried Railroad Station museum, West 21st Street, to visitors Oct. 20. The station will be open 1-4 p.m.

The women’s group of St. Paul’s UCC will be hosting a soup and salad night 4-7 p.m. Oct. 19. The menu includes soup, salad, bread, beverage and dessert.

Mark your calendar for the first Jennifer D. Hendershot Memorial Basket Social 1-5 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Northampton Borough Fire Department, 4 Lerchenmiller Drive.

A reminder to those who are donating baskets/gift cards: They must be turned in by Oct. 25.

Hendershot was a 2003 graduate of Northampton Area High School and attended both Northampton Community College and East Stroudsburg University.
