Upper Macungie Twp fire departments receive new breathing apparatus equipment

All three Upper Macungie Fire Departments were able to replace their outdated self-contained breathing apparatus as the result of a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant. The $230,000 grant was used to replace older models of Scott SCBA with the Scott Air-Pak X3 Pro SCBA, which meets NFPA 1981/1982, 2018 Edition standards for Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.

The new units were delivered to Good Will Fire Company No. 1, Trexlertown, where members from Good Will, Fogelsville, and Upper Macungie Station 56 unboxed and assembled the new units, in preparation for service.
