A night at the ‘Museum’

“Museum,” written by playwright Tina Howe, brings 25 student actors together in multiple roles at Parkland High School’s intimate Black Box Theatre.

The comedy involves a hapless museum security guard dealing with a variety of people viewing a group show of three fictional contemporary American artists titled “The Broken Silence.”

The play pokes fun at the grouping of colorful characters exhibited along with the “art” in an American museum of modern art on the last day of the show.

Director Mark A. Stutz also serves as co-producer. He is assisted by Co-Producer Francis Anonia, Technical Director Damon Gelb and Elizabeth Smith as costumer.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4-5, and 3 p.m. Oct. 5-6, in the Black Box Theatre at Parkland High School.

Due to some mature themes, the show is recommended for an audience age 14 and older, according to Stutz.

Tickets are available at showtix4u.com/events/15799.
