The album produced two singles, “Jesus And A Jukebox” and “Things I Lean On.” Wynonna Ellen Judd (born Christina Claire Ciminella, May 30, 1964) is a multi-award-winning American country music and Adult Contemporary pop singer. She rose to fame in the 1980s alongside her mother Naomi in the country music duo The Judds. The Big Noise, led by her husband-drummer-producer, Cactus Moser, encompasses country, Americana, blues, soul and rock. Just say Yes: Keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman, embarking on his first solo tour of the United States in 13 years, brings his “Rick Wakeman: Grumpy Old Rock Star Tour” to Miller Symphony Hall, Allentown, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8. The solo concert combines piano music with jokes and insights into his 50-plus-year career. Expect music from Yes, Wakeman’s solo epics and early David Bowie hits, plus arrangements of Beatles’ tunes. Wakeman’s career started as an in-demand session player. His big break came in 1971 when he joined Yes, the prog-rock band inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. Real Gritty: Nitty Gritty Dirt Band rolls into Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe, for a concert, 8 p.m. Oct. 6. Doors open at 6 p.m. Following a 50th anniversary tour, the ensemble grew to a six-piece in 2018 for the first time since the group’s early jug band days. The group is: Jeff Hanna, acoustic guitar, electric guitar; Jimmie Fadden, drums, harmonica; Bob Carpenter, keyboards; Jim Photoglo, bass, acoustic guitar; Ross Holmes, fiddle, mandolin, and Jaime Hanna (son of Jeff Hanna), electric and acoustic guitar. All six members also sing, and when their voices merge, the harmonies add a powerful new component for the legendary band. Their career breakthrough came in 1970 with the release of the record, “Uncle Charlie & His Dog Teddy,” and the single “Mr. Bojangles,” a folksy Top 10 pop hit that remains a staple of their live show.
