The Allentown Central Catholic High School Theater Department recently announced “The Pajama Game” will be the upcoming spring musical. There will be a variety of performances April 16-18, 2020.

Priyanka Bhashyam and Jack Yen are Central Catholic’s 2020 National Merit Scholars. Both students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students. These students demonstrate outstanding potential for academic success.

The boys and girls soccer teams are hosting a Penny War to help fundraise for the Central City Project Food Pantry.

During lunch periods through Oct. 10, students will be able to cast their vote for their favorite team by dropping pennies into their collection jug. They can also decrease a team’s points by adding silver coins to that team’s jug.

The ecology club, directed by Mr. Caprio, provided volunteer landscaping to the Lehigh County Humane Society. The Humane Society is at full capacity with animals, including several saved from Hurricane Dorian. Students were given a tour of the facility. Great job ecology club!

Spirit Week will be held Oct. 7 through 11. A Homecoming pep rally will be held in Rockne Hall Oct. 10. The Homecoming dance will be held at Rockne Hall Oct. 11. The Homecoming football game will be held 7 p.m. Oct. 12 against Liberty High School at J. Birney Crum Stadium, 2027 Linden St., Allentown.

Recently the Vikings defeated Whitehall High School with a score of 16-15. The Vikings will face the Emmaus Hornets at Emmaus High School Oct. 4.

The Viking cross country season is doing well. The next meet will be at Lehigh Parkway 4 p.m. Oct. 8. The Eastern Pennsylvania Conference meet will be held Oct. 15 and the District XI meet will be held Oct. 23.

Allentown Central Catholic High School will be closed Oct. 14 in observance of the Columbus Day Holiday.
