Cedar Crest College

CSACI awards high GPA

Cedar Crest College was awarded the Colonial States Athletic Conference Institutional Academic Excellence Award for the 2018-19 academic year. The school’s average grade point average of 3.454 was the highest recorded combined GPA in the award’s history.

Homecoming set for Oct. 18, 19

The Homecoming and Reunion Weekend will be held beginning at 9 a.m. on October 18 and ending with a 6:30 p.m. event on October 19 at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19.

2019 will be the reunion celebrations for class years 1944, 1949, 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984,1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019.

Northampton Community College

Campuses to hold open house events

Northampton Community College (NCC) will, in October, offer tours of the Bethlehem and Monroe campuses and the Fowler Family Southside Center. Tour topics will include thee majors offered, financial aid, clubs, organizations and career services.

There will be experts available for question and answer opportunities. There will be an opportunity to meet faculty and current students.

The hours and dates are, for the Bethlehem Campus, 11 a.m. Oct. 8 and 2 p.m. Oct. 22 in Alumni Hall, Room 130;

Monroe Campus, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 8 and noon Oct. 25 noon in Room 120 Keystone Hall; and for the Fowler Family Southside Center (dental hygiene, massage therapy, medical assistant majors) at 11 a.m., in the lobby, Oct. 3.

Funeral services exams tied for first

For the fourth year, Northampton Community College students’ pass rates for the Funeral Service Arts and Science exams were tied for first in the nation for science. The scores placed third for arts.

The college’s Funeral Service Education degree program is accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education. The associate degree program, designed to give students a broad understanding of funeral home operation and directing, public health and embalming, typically takes six semesters to complete.
