UPPER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church having pet blessing on Oct. 6

Zion’s Union Church, Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, is collecting new socks for men, women, children and infants between Oct. 6-27 to be distributed to local organizations and shelters.

St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8227 Hamilton Blvd., Breinigsville, will offer a blessing of the pets at 1 p.m. Oct. 6. This event will be held rain or shine.

Arrive by 12:30 p.m. for food, drinks and raffle ticket sales. Hot dogs, baked goods and drinks will be available for purchase.

Raffle tickets may be purchased in advance and at the event for the opportunity to win a dog or cat basket, or a store gift card from Pet Valu, Target, or Giant.

Ticket sales will before the pet blessing, and winning tickets will be drawn after the pet blessing ends.

Proceeds will benefit Brindle Buddies and Friends, a rescue in Kutztown.

Raffle prize winners do not need to be present.

Busy Bees at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville, is accepting orders until Oct. 6 for their hoagie sale.

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, will host Jill from Seniors Move by Design for a “Preparing for Home and Life Transitions” discussion on aging in place well. The presentation will be given 10:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 27.

Baby Time for children ages birth to 18 months will be offered 10:30-11:30 a.m. Sept. 30 and Oct. 7.

Russ Rentler will give a concert for seniors 4:30-6 p.m. Sept. 30 in the South Whitehall Township Building.

He will play a variety of stringed instruments and share stories of his years as a physician.

A Teen Dragons and Dungeon Night for kids in grades seven through 12 will be offered from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 30.

Toddler Story Time for kids 18 months to 3 years will be offered 10:30-11 a.m. Oct. 1, 2, 8 and 9.

Preschool Story Time for kids ages 3-5 will be held 1:30-2:30 p.m. Oct. 2, 3, 9 and 10.

The library will be showing the following movie “Shazam” 1 p.m. Oct. 4 and 7 for adults.

Baby Story Time for ages 18 months plus and an adult will take place 10:30-11:30 a.m. Oct. 5.

Homemade card making for adults is scheduled for 1:30-3 p.m. on Oct. 5. All materials will be provided.

Maker Monday for kids in kindergarten through second grade will take place 6-7 p.m. Oct. 7.

They will hear a story, explore art and STEM related activities.

The Teen Anime Club for kids in grades six through 12 will dive into Korean pop culture while trying some new snacks, making buttons and watching Korean dramas 6:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 9.

The Senior Book Club will meet to discuss the novel “A Gentlemen in Moscow” by Amor Towles 3-4:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at Luther Crest retirement community, 800 Hausman Road, South Whitehall.

Join yoga instructor Karen Klubertanz of Five Paths for senior yoga 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Oct. 10.
