The Moravian College football team fell to No. 21 Johns Hopkins University, 41-0, in Centennial Conference action at Homewood Field Friday evening as the Blue Jays played their 50th career Friday game while the Greyhounds played for just the second time in program history on Friday night.
Local standouts included: senior running back Roberto Diez (Freedom HS) led the Moravian offense with the first 100-yard game of his career as he ran for 105 yards on 21 carries. Freshman quarterback Sherwin Stewart (Stroudsburg HS) ran for 17 yards on six carries while freshman running back Carrington Smith (Easton, Pa.l) had eight yards on four attempts.
Diez caught one pass for 13 yards while junior wide receiver Nick Petros (Liberty HS) had one reception for eight yards.
Junior defensive back Jackson Buskirk (Whitehall HS) had six tackles with one for loss while junior defensive lineman PJ Weierbach (Bethlehem Catholic HS) added six stops with two for loss and one sack. Sophomore linebacker Noah Breidinger (Emmaus HS) each had five stops.
The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, September 28 when the squad hosts Ursinus College in a Centennial Conference contest kicking off at 1 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field in Bethlehem.
