Northampton Community College
Bookcase class begins Sept. 26
“Build a Bookcase” at the Fab Lab at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Sept. 26 through Nov. 21, Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. Third St.
Participants will be guided by a master furniture-maker in building a small (approximately 36” wide x 45” tall) bookcase with three shelves below and three small drawers across the top. Spartan Sprint Sept. 28
Northampton Community College will hold its sixth annual Spartan Sprint 5K run/walk at 10 a.m. on Sept. 28 at the Bethlehem Campus, 3835 Green Pond Road. Proceeds will go into an NCC fund that assists NCC students who have financial difficulties.
There will be music, refreshments and a raffle after the race. Strollers and leashed pets are welcome. Awards will be given to top male and female finishers in each age bracket.

Moravian College
College gets high ranking
Moravian College has been ranked number 136 in the U.S. News & World Report 2020 rankings of National Liberal Arts Colleges and number 60 in Top Performers on Social Mobility in a Sept. 9 release. The Princeton Review, Forbes, Money Magazine and the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings for 2020 were among media outlets recognizing Moravian.
The U.S. News rankings compare bachelor’s degree granting institutions from across the U.S. on 15 diverse measures of academic quality. The 2020 rankings include 223 national liberal arts Colleges – 199 private and 24 public. Fewer than half of the nation’s higher educational institutions – about 1,400 colleges and universities – are ranked in any category by the publication.
