Daniel Roebuck to emcee Easton Silk film festival

Lehigh Valley native Daniel Roebuck will emcee the SILK Festival on the Bushkill, 6 - 11 p.m. Sept. 21, Simon Silk Mill, 13th Street and Bushkill Drive, Easton.

SILK Festival features local and international film shorts, including a world premiere. Food and beverages will be available. A deejay dance party will be held.

Roebuck made his directorial feature movie debut with “Getting Grace,” filmed in the Lehigh Valley. Roebuck is in pre-production on “The Hail Mary,” also scheduled for production in the Lehigh Valley.

Among films scheduled to be screened are:

“No Other Way,” a drama about how far a son will go to save his dying mother.

“The Brothers,” a visit from the Simon brothers.

“Control,” Sixties women take dramatic steps to control their lives.

“Chrissy & Koen, a child’s perception of “Mums.”

“The Pleasure Of Being Served,” an “illegal” must make a dangerous decision.

“Mindfulness,” take it all in without being overwhelmed.

“The M.I.C.E. In The Wall,” to fight mind control, you must join your enemy.

“Runner: Episode from Omeleto,” Running only gets you so far.

“Tigers In The Soup,” A teenager reconciles her parents’ breakup thanks to her mother’s new boyfriend.

Jennifer Kennedy, SILK’s Director of Leasing and Property Management, described the SILK Festival as “an ideal and unique setting for a rebirth of our trademark festival with our love of art, film, music and an array of food.

“This year marks the final completion at SILK, where all will enjoy the new event, so we’re especially excited to show off the results.”
