The Neffs National Bank has announced the retirement of Ronald Gildner.

After 45 years of service, the vice president of retail lending is hanging up his suit and tie in an effort to spend more time with his family and the community.

Gildner started as a bank teller in July 1974 and rose to security officer and vice president of retail lending.

Over the years, Gildner helped generations of local families meet their financial needs.

Gildner also has spent much of his life in service to the community, from being a volunteer firefighter and assistant fire chief with Neffs Volunteer Fire Company, to being a scout leader for his three sons Andrew, Alex, and Aaron.

He also served on Union United Church of Christ Consistory.

The Neffs National Bank President/CEO Kevin Schmidt reflected on Gildner’s 45 years in service at the bank, noting his commitment to the organization and community defines Gildner as a quintessential community banker and leader.

“He has been an exemplary representative of The Neffs National Bank and community banking in general. Not only is he active and well known in the community, but he was a “personal banker” before it became the buzzword it is today,” Schmidt stated.

Gildner resides in Slatington with his wife Kathleen.
