Sept. 18

The East Penn Chamber presents a municipal update luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gather Meetings & Event Center, 5402 Chestnut St., Emmaus. East Penn School District Superintendent Kristen Campbell, Emmaus Borough Manager Shane Pepe, Macungie Borough Council President Chris Becker, Alburtis Borough Council President Ron DeIaco and Upper Milford Township Manager Bud Carter will be the featured speakers. The Emmaus Historical Society will hold its September program 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fifth and Main streets, Emmaus. The program will continue this year’s theme of “Celebrate the Celebrations” and is titled “The 1909 Golden Jubilee Celebrating 50 Years of the Incorporation of the Borough of Emmaus.” It will focus on the various week-long events and parade and will be presented by Andrew Kerstetter. All are welcome to attend this free event.

Sept. 21

The Emmaus Main Street Partners will host a Farewell to Summer Festival 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 21 at Triangle Park. The festival features live music, kid’s activities, craft vendors, face painting, a dunk tank and food trucks. There will be a scarecrow trail and scarecrow decorating. The festival is held in conjunction with the Emmaus Historical Alliance for the Emmaus Heritage Festival 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. which is being held at the Emmaus Historical Society museum, 218 Main St. The Alliance members invite the public to attend the festival and enjoy food, entertainment, crafts and activities. Sept. 23

The Woman’s Club of Emmaus will host a demonstration of Qigong (a form of Tai Chi) 7 p.m. A business meeting 6:30 p.m. will precede the Qigong demonstration. The Woman’s Club of Emmaus events are held in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. Those interested in joining the club are invited to meetings and events.

Sept. 24

Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society quarterly meeting will be held 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township building, 5671 Chestnut St., Zionsville. Michael Fegley will present a program about his bottle collection, most of which are from the local area. If you have a bottle you would like to share, bring it to the program. Refreshments will be served after the program. All are welcome.

Sept. 27

A festive autumn social will be held 7-10 p.m. at Brookside Country Club to benefit the Emmaus Public Library. The evening will feature wine tasting with hors d’oeuvres and chocolate plus a silent auction. Tickets are now available at the Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St.

Sept. 28

Salisbury High School Class of 1979’s 40th class reunion 1 p.m. at Lenape Park Pavilion, Lenape Park Road, Zionsville.

Oct. 1

The Emmaus Garden Club will meet noon at Faith Presbyterian Church, 3002 N. Second St., Emmaus. The program will be “Fall Gardening and Cleanup” with Linc Coffin. Learn how to extend your gardening season and how to clean up the garden properly. Coffin, a Master Gardener, will lead attendees through these processes. Guests are always welcome. Father-daughter dance for girls ages four to 12, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lower Macungie Community Center, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie. Pre-registration is limited to 50 couples. Apple Harvest Festival at Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, 1 to 4 p.m. Enjoy free food, games, prizes for children, face painting and cake walks. Donate a non-perishable food item to receive a free ticket for the basket raffle. All food donated will be given to the Zionsville Area Food Pantry. Upper Milford Township Fire Company will host an Emergency Services Community Day at the Upper Milford Township Building, 5671 Chestnut St., Zionsville,11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event will feature the many resources available to the township residents, medevac landing noon, live demonstrations, fun and games for kids, handouts, food and much more.

Mother-son Halloween party for boys ages four to 12, 7-9 p.m. at the Lower Macungie Community Center, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie. Registration is limited to 25 couples.
