PA PLAYHOUSE:

The Pennsylvania Playhouse, 390 Illicks Mill Road, Bethlehem, is holding auditions for its production of the musical, “She Loves Me,” 6:30 p.m. Sept. 15 and Sept. 22, at the playhouse. Callbacks, if necessary, are Sept. 25.

Those auditioning are to prepare 32 bars of music from the show or a similar show or genre, and be ready for movement. A headshot is not necessary. Schedule conflicts should be noted.

Performances of the show are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 6 - 22.

With book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and based on a play by Miklos Laszlo, the show is directed by Rody Gilkeson, with musical direction by Nancy Shumaker and choreography by Meghan Koehler.

“She Loves Me” is an intimate, warm, romantic comedy, with an endearing innocence and a touch of old-world elegance. Set in a Hungarian parfumerie, it’s full of comic twists and turns; a journey of mistaken identity, and letter-writing where two feuding clerks have no idea that they are in love.
