The 30th Uptown Northampton Street Fair will be held 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 14 on Main Street.

More than 100 local food, craft and merchant vendors are expected to participate.

The Roxy Theatre will offer tours all day.

The lineup for live entertainment includes:

• 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Jordan White on the main stage

• 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Brenna on the Gin Mill & Grille Beer Garden Stage

• 1-3 p.m., Andrew Lobby on the Gin Mill & Grille Beer Garden Stage

• 3-5 p.m., Bryant Brothers on the Gin Mill & Grille Beer Garden Stage

• 3:30-5 p.m., Tim Harakal on the main stage

There will also be demonstrations by Elite Mixed Martial Arts and performances by 3D Dance Studio on the main stage.

Reminder: Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1904 Main St., will hold its annual basket social and flea market 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Sept. 13 and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 14.

The drawing will take place 3:30 p.m. Sept. 14. You don’t need to be present to win.

More than 400 items, including local gift certificates, door prizes and other items, are part of the raffle.

The kitchen will also be open the same hours for food and beverages.

The event benefits Northampton Area Food Bank and the church.

Quota Club of Northampton will hold a yard sale 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 21 at Northampton Fire Department, 4 Lerchenmiller Drive.

Organizers are looking for vendors of yard sale items as well as crafts and other specialty items. There will be both indoor tables and outdoor spaces for vendors available for a fee.

There will be a dedication of a Slavic memorial linden tree 1 p.m. Sept. 21 at Municipal Park, Smith Lane and Laubach Avenue.

The tree was donated by the Rev. Jerry Mraz, former pastor of Holy Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church, and his family.

The dedication plaque was sponsored by members of the Northampton Slavic heritage churches: St. John the Baptist; Holy Trinity Slovak Lutheran; Queenship of Mary; Assumption of the Virgin Mary; and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The plaque reads: “The Linden Tree (Lipa) is the ‘Tree of Freedom’ for the peoples of the Slovak and Czech Republics. Here, in Northampton, it commemorates the Slovak and all other Slavic citizens of the borough, who came to the United States in the late 1800s and early 1900s seeking freedom and opportunities unavailable to them in their ethnic homelands. They found employment in the local quarries, cement plants, steel mills and clothing factories. The gifts they brought with them included a longing to be free, a strong work ethic and a deep religious faith. Planted in 2019, this Freedom Tree also memorializes the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution that helped pave the way for Slovakia’s independence.”

Northampton Area Food Bank is sponsoring a penny party Sept. 22 at Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville.

Doors open 1 p.m. and the fun begins 2 p.m. There will be refreshments, a raffle and a bake sale.
