To the Editor:
Some folks reading this will remember the 1965 hit by Shirley Ellis, titled “The Name Game.” Well, Rock-Lehigh Valley LLC is playing its own version of the ’60s hit.
Having been denied a request to have 155 acres of land in East Allen Township rezoned to light industrial business park for a future warehouse, Rock-Lehigh Valley has taken a new approach to its quest.
In filing an appeal, it now has identified the proposed structure as a logistics center.
Warehouse or logistics center - what’s the difference? There is none.
On your smartphone, ask Siri and she’ll state that a logistics center is a warehouse, freight forwarder, etc. Check it out yourself.
Trash hauler or sanitation engineer, they both do the same thing.
I was a storekeeper in the Navy. Today, that same rate is called a logistics specialist. Same job, different title.
If this game continues, East Allen Township will not only need a big-city legal team but also a linguistic specialist!
