Coplay: Buy wristbands now for local pub crawl

Wristbands are now on sale for the Coplay Borough 150th anniversary pub crawl scheduled for 3-8 p.m. Sept. 21.

The crawl starts 3 p.m. at Samuel Owens Restaurant and Bar, 128 Chestnut St. The crawl continues onto 2nd Street Tavern, 33 N. Second St.; then to American Club of Coplay, 300 Cherry St.; and ends at the Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St. Participants are then encouraged to return to their favorite spot.

A card will be printed for each crawl participant. The card must be signed at each bar and turned in by 8 p.m. to be entered to win a grand prize. The prize winner will be picked Sept. 22.

Each bar will also have a prize for a lucky participant as well as drink specials.

To sign up the day of the event, the 150th anniversary committee will sell wristbands starting 3 p.m. Sept. 21 at Coplay Community Plaza, North Second and Chestnut streets.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., has a chicken paprikash and ham dinner planned for 4-7 p.m. Sept. 14 in the lower level of the church hall.

The public is invited.

Commitment to Family and Community is returning to its monthly breakfasts starting 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 15 at its 165 Cherry St. hall.

The Coplay Borough summer concert series continues 6-9 p.m. Sept. 18 with Dan Flok Trio & Chris Aguayo at Coplay Community Plaza, North Second and Chestnut streets.

The Edward M. Kennedy Democratic Association, also known as the Coplay Democratic Club, will meet 1 p.m. Oct. 6 at Paulie’s Family Restaurant, 1214 Chestnut St.

Meet the Lehigh County commissioner at large, Lehigh County controller, Whitehall-Coplay School Board and Coplay Borough Council candidates.

Founded in 1938, the CDC is one of the oldest Democratic associations in Lehigh County.

Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association is accepting registrations from the public and organizations for its annual community Halloween parade Oct. 15. The deadline for registrations is Oct. 8.
