CMS News: Anti-bullying program to start

The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program kickoff event will be Sept. 13 at Catasauqua Middle School. Val Weisler, the CEO and founder of The Validation Project and a Muhlenberg College student, will talk with the students.

There will be two assemblies - one for fifth and sixth grades and the other for seventh and eighth grades.

The first meeting of the year for the CMS Parent-Teacher Forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 17 in the library.

The group meets the third Tuesday of each month.

There will be an early dismissal Sept. 18. CMS will dismiss students 12:20 p.m.

The PTF Welcome Back dance will be held 7-9 p.m. Sept. 20.

The fifth-grade field trip to Carbon County Environmental Education Center is scheduled for Sept. 26 and 27.

Don’t forget the school is participating in the Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends event. Purchase a shopping pass through CMS and receive 25 percent off when you shop at Boscov’s Oct. 16.

This fundraiser will run through the end of September.

Parents, be sure to update your phone number and email information for the PowerAnnouncement system. The system allows administration to send telephone, email and text messages with important information regarding school delays, cancellations, reminders about various events and more.

Note all future calendars will also be sent using the PowerAnnouncement system.
