For some, Aug. 26 was a daunting experience: their first day of school ever. For others it was the first day of their last year at St. Anne’s ES.
A warm welcome awaited all 270 students from Father Anthony Mongiello, Principal Karen Bentz and teachers from kindergarten to eighth grade.
Shortly after arriving, they all gathered in the gym, where Father Mongiello led them in a prayer. Then each class and teacher were introduced. Introductions were followed by an all-student parade around the block, with each student holding up a sign which read “St. Anne’s School, Bethlehem, PA.” So began a new school year at St. Anne’s.
To fire up her third grade class, Mrs. Blumetti has them repeat after her: “WE ARE … ST. ANNE'S!” The class includes Julia Jennings, Jax Rhinehart, Mia Avila and Patrick Parkes. Copyright -
