In the Aug. 28 edition of The East Penn Press, on Page A8, photographs of cars burning rubber along Buckeye Road Aug. 23 before, during and after the Wheels of Time Cruise were shown. Representatives from the Wheels of Time contacted The Press with the following statement: “Wheels of Time does not condone the burnouts due to the smell and thickness of the smoke. No one understands the oncoming traffic consequences if a car goes out of control or blows a tire and people could get hit with debris or killed. There would be many lawsuits which would probably end the Wheels of Time organization. All pictured burnouts were done by local residents. Wheels of Time would appreciate if the residents would not continue with the burnouts during the weekend of the Wheels of Time show due to safety concerns. If this continues, the car parade may be canceled.”
