Mayor Kathleen Palmer received a request from a Boy Scout she shared at the Aug. 28 Alburtis Borough Council meeting. The request is for a suggested Eagle Scout project. One suggestion was to create a box for old American flags. It would be used to hold the flags until they could be disposed of properly. The Troop will consider this suggestion.
Lockridge Historical Church needs to have a painting project completed. A grant was received several years ago which covered only enough to paint a portion of the building. Council approved the request.
The search is on for a used lift to assist borough employees trimming trees, painting and handling other projects requiring the ability to reach higher places. This lift would help complete the church painting project. This was approved and the search will continue.
Council member Hector Vazquez attended a Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce function. At this event, he accepted a grant for the borough.
Council member Stephen Kaufman presented a disaster plan to council. This plan was established for borough hall equipment. It was approved
There has been a problem with mud in Copper Alley. This situation seems to be resolving as the resident is no longer parking in his yard which appeared to be the problem.
An executive session was held regarding a personnel matter.
Alburtis Borough Council meetings are held 7 p.m. the second and last Wednesday of each month in borough hall, 260 Franklin St., Alburtis, except on legal holidays when the meeting is held the Monday prior.
