STATE POLICE
A 60-year-old male, of Royersford, was injured when his motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck along Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9:46 a.m. Aug. 3.
The injured man was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest campus and his suspected injuries included a broken leg, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
In a media release, police outlined the incident as follows: The motorcyclist was southbound on Brookside Road when a pickup truck, also headed south, began to negotiate a turn to travel north on Brookside Road. The pickup was turning as the motorcycle was passing and the truck struck the motorcycle with its front left fender.
The motorcycle was towed from the scene by Yocum Towing.
A black double sided knife, valued at $16, was removed from a vehicle parked in the 4600 block of Shuler Street, Lower Macungie Township, between 11 p.m. Aug. 10 and 6 a.m. Aug. 11. A second vehicle also was entered in the same incident.
Cornelius Simon Okumu, 40, of Allentown, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop along U.S. Route 222 South, Lower Macungie Township, 3:25 a.m. July 27, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Okumu was transported to Lehigh County Booking Center.
Aaron Lombardo, 20, of Havertown, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop at the intersection of South Cedar Crest Boulevard and North Street in Emmaus borough, 2:10 a.m. July 31, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Theft
Robert William Wert, 35, of Allentown, was arrested for alleged retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:15 a.m. Aug. 15. Wert allegedly failed to scan items, including an air conditioner and a vacuum with a total value of $251, at a self-check out terminal, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A wallet was stolen from a 48-year-old female, of Breinigsville, while she was shopping at Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 7:33 p.m. Aug. 1. The contents of the wallet included a Pennsylvania driver’s license, a health insurance card, $500 cash, a debit card, at least two credit cards and other cards. The wallet was valued at $60. The credit cards were later used to make fraudulent transactions at a Best Buy store and a Target department store in Quakertown, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A resident of Pioneer Drive, Lower Macungie Township, reported a rear exterior window of his residence was damaged by a pellet gun between 11 p.m. Aug. 11 and 9:40 a.m. Aug. 12. A resident of Crested Road, Lower Milford Township, reported four decorative solar lights were destroyed and garbage was put inside her mailbox. The incident was reported 11:54 a.m. Aug. 13. A cellphone was found in the intersection of Sauerkraut Lane and Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:53 p.m. Aug. 12.
Deivi Sanchez Rodriguez, 26, of Bronx, N.Y. and Sofy Maria Santos, 46, of Allentown, were charged with retail theft after they allegedly under rang assorted merchandise with a total value of $530.76 at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 1:07 p.m. Aug. 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Shaquinna Latiqua Steele, 28, of Allentown and Shaneen Aleece Brown, 27, of Allentown, were identified, apprehended, taken into custody and charged with retail theft Aug. 6 after they allegedly removed a canopy, a bathroom shelf and various items, with a total value of $199.20, from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:29 p.m. July 30, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
According to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, a Lower Macungie Township resident was called by an unidentified male claiming to be from a hospitality group of which the resident was a member. The resident was told she owed money to maintain her account. The caller advised her to travel to Target stores at 749 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township and 1600 N. Cedar Crest Blvd., South Whitehall Township and purchase approximately $12,148 in Target gift cards. The resident provided the gift card numbers to the caller by phone so the cards could be redeemed. A 30-year-old male, of Allentown, was cited for harassment after he allegedly “whipped” a sweatshirt at a 26-year-old female causing bruising to her eyelid in an incident in the 3600 block of Main Road East, Upper Milford Township, May 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
