Good Shepherd students return

Good Shepherd Catholic School opened its doors Aug. 26 for the start of the 2019-20 academic year, with a curriculum that has advanced in meeting the students’ needs.

Susan Parker is the interim principal of the school, located at 1300 Newport Ave., Northampton.

School enrollment is 197 boys and girls, kindergarten through eighth grade, similar to the past school year. The number could go higher with last-minute enrollments.

The curriculum core studies include math, science, reading, social studies, writing and religion. Technology is fully integrated into the curriculum. Computer and related materials, arts, drama and Spanish are also included in students’ learning.

The parishes that comprise Good Shepherd Catholic School enrollment are Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Northampton; Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton; Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Egypt; St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay; St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Stiles; and St. John Fisher Church, North Catasauqua.
