Catasauqua: Summer concerts at borough park are winding down

From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 30, come out to the amphitheater at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St., to hear the James Supra/Sarah Ayers Band.

As always, remember to bring those lawn chairs or blankets and snacks!

There are only two more concerts scheduled for the summer concerts program - Sept. 6 and 13.

Catasauqua Fire Police will be having a flea market 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 31 at the training grounds on Race Street.

You can rent a 10-foot-by-10-foot table.

The event will take place rain or shine.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., will hold its next community lunch 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Aug. 31.

There is no cost for lunch, but donations are accepted.

Sept. 2 is the deadline to get your advanced tickets for St. Mary’s Catholic Church’s drive-thru chicken dinner. The meal includes half of a chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, local corn on the cob, roll and butter.

Pickup is scheduled for 4-6 p.m. Sept. 13 at the 122 Union St. location.

Simply drive up Union Street from Front Street, stop in front of the parking lot and provide your ticket(s), and a volunteer will hand you your dinner.

The first fall meeting of Catasauqua Garden Club is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sept. 4 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Linda Kortz, a favorite floral artisan of the group, will demonstrate basic floral- arranging techniques as she builds a crisp fall arrangement.

Interested guests are always invited to share in the fun gardening experiences.

Please have all artistic and horticultural entries in place early, so the meeting can start on time.

Don’t miss the Murder at Mardi Gras mystery dinner theater, set for 5:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St.
