The Neffs National Bank recently presented donations to eight area educational foundations totaling $100,000.

The educational foundations included: Parkland, Northern Lehigh, Northwestern Lehigh school districts educational foundations, Wildlands Conservancy Inc., Carbon County Community Foundation, Circle of Seasons Inc., Lehigh Carbon Community College Foundation and Wildlife Information Center Inc.

The donations were made through The Neffs National Bank’s participation in the state’s educational improvement tax credit program, which authorizes tax credits for contributions to educational improvement organizations and allows the bank to earmark its taxes to support these programs.

The Neffs National Bank President and CEO Kevin Schmidt said the bank continues to value community relationships and is aware of the budgetary constraints that these organizations face.

“We want to thank them for their dedication to education and hope that this contribution is able to assist them in meeting their goals,” Schmidt stated.

He also expressed hope to each organization that these contributions will stimulate other businesses to participate in the program and make contributions to qualifying organizations such as these.
