A teenage girl was arrested July 2 for alleged aggravated assault with a weapon and conspiracy in the wake of a shooting in a parking lot at Jefferson Elementary School, 520 Elm St.

In an affidavit of probable cause obtained by The Press, Emmaus police detailed the incident leading to charges against Elisa Angelys Torres, 17, of Bethlehem: At 10:48 p.m. June 12, Emmaus police officers were dispatched to Jefferson Elementary School for a report of shots fired with someone possibly hit and two vehicles fleeing the area. Police found a vehicle and three people at the scene. A bullet hole was seen in a rear driver side passenger door window. Officers found six spent and two live rounds of ammunition.

One of the people at the scene, identified in the affidavit as victim one, told police he contacted Torres, his ex-girlfriend and arranged to meet with Torres and another female friend with two of his friends at the school lot. At the meeting he and Torres argued, according to court documents.

Torres allegedly left the area in her vehicle. She later returned to the scene. A white vehicle arrived and “two males in hoodies got out and began shooting,” according to the affidavit.

A second person, identified in the affidavit as victim two, stated he heard Torres threaten victim one. Victim two said he saw a white vehicle speed down the block. Torres, according to victim two, met with the occupants of the white vehicle. Victim two told police he jumped back into victim one’s car when he heard gunshots.

According to the affidavit, victim one was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The second victim was in a rear passenger seat and a third person was in the front passenger seat where a round of ammunition was later found in a seatbelt post.

Surveillance video showed both the white vehicle allegedly used by the shooters and the red vehicle allegedly driven by Torres at the scene and as the vehicles fled together westbound in the 500 block of North Street following the incident, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

Torres was confined to Lehigh County Jail Aug. 12 after she was unable to post bail.

Jose Fernandez, 57, of Whitehall, was arrested July 28 for allegedly driving under the influence, failure to drive within lane of travel and expired registration in the 600 block of State Avenue, according to Emmaus police. He was transported to the Lehigh County DUI Center.

Joshua Stephen Breinig, 28, of Emmaus, was arrested Aug. 3 for allegedly driving under the influence and accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle in the 700 block of Chestnut Street, according to Emmaus police. He was transported to the Lehigh County DUI Center.

Nicholas Remaly, 38, of Center Valley, was arrested July 21 for allegedly driving under the influence in the 100 block of East Minor Street, according to Emmaus Police. He was transported to the Lehigh County DUI Center.

A 38-year-old male, of Center Valley and a 30-year-old female, also of Center Valley, were cited Aug. 9 for public drunkenness after allegedly causing a disturbance at Turkey Hill Minit Market, 602 Chestnut St., according to Emmaus police. Citations were issued.

Joel Rafael Algarin, 23, of Bethlehem, was arrested Aug. 6 for alleged terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment following a dispute in the unit block of South 10th Street, according to Emmaus police. He was transported to the Lehigh County Booking.

Noah Thomas Leddy, 20, of Pottstown, was arrested July 30 for alleged simple assault and harassment following a dispute in the unit block of East Minor Street, according to Emmaus police. He was transported to the Lehigh County Booking Center.

Gerald Zimmerman, 25, of Shamokin, was arrested Aug. 1 for alleged reckless endangerment, escape, an accident involving an unattended vehicle, expired registration, driving without insurance and driving with a suspended license after striking a parked vehicle in the 100 block of Main Street, according to Emmaus police. He was transported to the Lehigh County Booking Center.

A 19-year-old male, of Emmaus and a 26-year-old male, of Macungie, were arrested for alleged disorderly conduct Aug. 11 after they engaged in a fight in the 700 block of Chestnut Street, according to Emmaus police. Citations were issued.

An unknown person removed packages from two front porches in the 300 block of Minor Street. The thefts, valued at $22, were reported July 31.

An unknown person forcibly entered a rear door of a residence in the 500 block of Minor Street and searched through boxes and also forcibly entered a garage at the residence. The incident was reported Aug. 6. Nothing was reported missing.

A 55-year-old male, of Chalfont, was arrested for an alleged protection from abuse order violation Aug. 9. He was transported to the Lehigh County Booking Center.

A set of car keys was found at the intersection of Delong Avenue and Arch Street July 31. The car keys are held at the Emmaus Police Department, 400 Jubilee St.
