Join the Penn State Extension Lehigh and Northampton County Master Gardeners for plant workshops “Pollinators and Your Vegetable Garden: A Symbiotic Relationship Workshop” and “Today’s Hydrangeas Workshop.”
The workshop “Pollinators and Your Vegetable Garden: A Symbiotic Relationship Workshop” is scheduled 10 to 11 a.m. Aug. 24 at the Burnside Plantation Pollinator Demonstration Garden, 1461 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem.
Did you know many of your flowering vegetable plants produce pollen and nectar that help feed pollinators?
The pollinators can help many of your favorite vegetables produce bigger and tastier vegetables.
Learn how you can maximize these relationships so you can benefit from better crop yields.
The “Today’s Hydrangeas Workshop” is scheduled 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sept.18 at Northampton Community College - Fowler Family Southside Center, Room 523, 511 E. Third St., Bethlehem. The presentation will cover the types, care and pruning of hydrangeas.
Gardeners need to know the type of hydrangea they are growing as that will influence when and how plants should be pruned in order to obtain the best blooms along with the optimal conditions required.
This talk will cover the proven varieties which have been used for years along with some of the newest exciting varieties being produced for bloom color and dependability.
Both workshops are free and open to the public.
To register for these workshops, visit the website extension.psu.edu or call 1-877-345-0691.
