North Whitehall resident Charles Horwith wanted to know more about building coverage on a lot.

He alleged, during the supervisors’ Aug. 5 meeting, that his neighbor exceeded the maximum lot coverage by building an addition to an existing building near the intersection of Old Post and Mauch Chunk roads near the Binney Mart.

Township Solicitor Lisa Young attempted to explain the process for calculation of the maximum lot coverage.

Wendy Lukens lives on a private road and was wondering if the township could send her a letter stating she does not own Magnolia Road and it is not a public road.

Young said she would send a letter to her.

Dale Kemmerer and his wife, Marie, attended the meeting seeking help with a drainage problem on their property along Route 873. Kemmerer said an underground pipe traverses his property and is deteriorating, leaving sinkholes on the lot.

The water is also eroding the foundation of his house.

He would like the township to convince PennDOT to repair or replace the pipe.

In other matters, the board appointed Amy Long to the recreation board to fill the unexpired term of Rick Miller.

Secretary Brenda Norder reported township offices would be closed Sept. 2 for Labor Day and Sept. 12 for the Senior Citizens Activity Day at Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville.
