Camp Jefferson: Kids, counselors enjoy catered lunch
Sadly, Camp Whitehall has come to an end for the summer. This week was the best week yet.
On Monday, Camp Jefferson began by playing the ultimate basketball game, Knockout. Spikeball was also a camp favorite. This game was set up everyday for the campers’ use. Many of our campers enjoyed playing the game with counselor Tyler.
Counselors Lauren and Cassidy showed many of our campers how to make friendship bracelets from string. All of them turned out so great.
Tuesday was our field trip to the Roxy Theatre. Camp Cementon and Camp Jefferson joined together, along with our bus drivers, to watch “Toy Story 4.” Everyone stayed at Cementon Pool for a beautiful afternoon in the sun.
Wednesday was our craft day, when we made Toy Story slime. The campers could pick which color slime they wanted and even add their own colored glitter to it.
On Thursday, campers played a few rounds of dodgeball and even had a girl-versus-boy round, which everyone loved.
On our last day of camp, everyone came together at Cementon Park for a wonderful day filled with fun and laughs. Both camps played Four Square together as well as basketball. Our lunch was catered by Samuel Owens in Coplay. We had a delicious spread of food that everyone loved. The campers all enjoyed a freeze pop and some candy before heading off to the pool.
Our Campers of the Week were Corday R. and Collene S. Our Campers of the Summer were Aubree A. and Tanner Z. Awesome job, everyone!
Reflecting on the eight short, fun-filled weeks, this summer was one for the books. From Camelbeach to Dutch Springs, every week had a new and exciting adventure waiting for the campers at Camp Jefferson.
I would like to thank all of the campers, counselors, parents, bus drivers and lifeguards for making this summer a fun and safe one. I would also like to wish luck to our campers who will be heading off the high school. Have a great school year, everyone, and we will see you next summer!
