Dorney Park workers learn to ‘Stop the Bleed’

Members of Dorney Park’s Safety Patrol were recently introduced to a program designed to control dangerous bleeding that occurs as a result of trauma.

The program, “Stop the Bleed” was presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network Adult Trauma Coordinator Bree Harrison and Emergency Room Director Brent Schoenfeldt, DO, at the park on July 24.

Attendees learned to pack wounds with a material designed for just such a task as well as using a tourniquet for severe extremity bleeding.

As a member of the Safety Patrol, each employee carries a trauma kit during their shift which includes the “Stop the Bleed” devices.
