Coplay Public Library: Coplay library showing season 1 episodes of ‘Doctor Who’

The free movies continue at Coplay Public Library. The entertainment begins 4:30 p.m.

The Aug. 12 showing is episodes 4-6 of season 1 of “Doctor Who.”

The Aug. 19 showing is episodes 7-9 of season 1 of “Doctor Who.”

The Aug. 26 showing is episodes 10-12 of season 1 of “Doctor Who.”

Episode 13 of season 1 of “Doctor Who” will be shown Aug. 28.

Everyone is welcome. Feel free to bring popcorn.

The library’s game nights are scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Aug. 12, 19 and 26. Try the library’s favorite, Scrabble, or bring your own game.

If you’re ready for something new and have a library card, you can check out some new games like Twilight Imperium, Planet and Star Wars: Rebellion.

There will be an astronaut activity program for children 3-4 p.m. Aug. 14.

Learn how to make your own stomp rockets when the Da Vinci Science Center visits the library 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 17.

There will also be other activities including the Jump to Jupiter program and the astronaut agility course. Take home your own handmade galaxy pinwheel.

Feel free to participate in one or all of the activities.

The program is open to everyone, so ask a neighbor or friend to come along.

The space-themed escape room for teens is scheduled for 3-4 p.m. Aug. 21.

The final summer program for adults is set for 6-7 p.m. Aug. 28. Participants will paint Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.”

Registration is required.

Join us for Blast Off into Reading storytime and crafts 11 a.m.-noon Thursday mornings in August.

No preregistration is necessary, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Check out the surprise puzzle of the month in the library. Stop in anytime and feel free to put in as many pieces as you want - the more, the merrier.

For August, the library’s display case will feature the Coplay Borough organizations that sustain our community - borough council, the fire department and the police department.

If you have photos, documents, news articles or other keepsakes, we would be happy to include them in the display. Anything you could tell us about the objects would be helpful.

Call the library at 610-262-7351 or stop in if you would like to share your remembrances with others.

You can also still view the items from the time capsule buried 50 years ago.

The library will return to regular hours Aug. 26. The hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

The library will be closed Aug. 31 and Sept. 2 for the Labor Day weekend.
