Join the Penn State Extension Lehigh and Northampton County Master Gardeners for these exciting workshops Succulent Savvy, Today’s Hydrangeas and Pollinators and Your Vegetable Garden.
Learn about the wonderful world of succulents 10 a.m. – noon Aug. 10 at Penn State Lehigh Valley, Room 224, 2809 Saucon Valley Road, Center Valley.
This diverse group of plants are easy to grow with a few basic strategies.
Topics covered include popular varieties of succulents, light and soil requirements, and avoiding common problems and pests.
Every participant will take home plants, soil, and a container to assemble their own succulent garden.
This workshop includes a planter with succulents.
There is a cost for this workshop.
Pollinators and Your Vegetable Garden, A Symbiotic Relationship Workshop is scheduled for 10-11 a.m. Aug. 24 at Burnside Plantation Pollinator Demonstration Garden, 1461 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem.

Today’s Hydrangeas Workshop is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sept.18 at Northampton Community College - Fowler Family Southside Center, Room 523, 511 E 3rd St., Bethlehem.
This presentation will cover the types, care and pruning of hydrangeas.
Gardeners need to know the type of hydrangea they are growing as that will influence when and how it should be pruned in order to obtain the best blooms along with the optimal conditions required.
This talk will cover the proven varieties which have been used for years along with some of the newest exciting varieties being produced for bloom color and dependability.
