SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK, Allentown, is gearing up for its Great Allentown Fair’s “Buck and a Can Night” Aug. 27. Ten volunteers are needed for two shifts (4-6:30 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m.); two volunteers per gate for a total of five gates. The first shift should report at Main Gate between 3:30-3:45 p.m. to check in; second shift should report to assigned gates. Volunteers will encourage shoppers to purchase extra school items for a child and then collect those items as shoppers leave the store.
