St. John’s United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St., is excited to announce the addition of Laurie Dovico as the director of the quickly growing Christian Leaning Center.

Dovico is a graduate of Kutztown University with a degree in psychology.

The learning center is open to children 3 to 5 years old.

Open houses are scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Aug. 6 and 20. There will also be a meet-the-teacher night 6-7:30 p.m. Aug. 29.

The Golden Agers group of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church will hold its next meeting 12:30 p.m. Aug. 2 in the church social hall, 618 Fullerton Ave.
