University of the Sciences

The following students have been named to the University of the Sciences dean’s list for spring 2019. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a C and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the spring of 2019.

University of the Sciences has prepared students to be leaders and practitioners in the health care and science fields for nearly 200 years. Norwich University

Satchel Orion Stauffer, of Catasauqua, and Malcolm Norman Christman, of Coplay, were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester at Norwich University. Full-time undergraduate students, who earned a semester GPA of at least 3.4 and had no failures in the previous fall or spring semester are awarded dean’s list honors. These students cannot have any pending incomplete grades. Dean’s list honors are noted on the official transcript each term earned.

Bloomsburg University

Harry Emery V, of Bath, was among 11 other members of the Bloomsburg University Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda, along with their adviser, Mark L. Usry, associate professor of business law, to join more than 1,000 students at the PBL National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas, the week of June 24-27. Emery earned second place in business decision making and was sixth with Austin Robbins in business presentation. The 12 students qualified to attend the national conference by placing first or second in their competitive events at the Pennsylvania State Leadership Conference this past spring. Competitive events include analyzing cases in areas such as forensic accounting and entrepreneurship, sales competition, help desk and customer service, impromptu speaking and competitive examinations.

Phi Beta Lambda is an organization at the college level that continues the opportunities Future Business Leaders of America provides for high school students. The FBLA-PBL mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.

Maryville University

Deborah Tully, of Whitehall, was named to the honors list for the spring 2019 semester at Maryville University. Part-time, undergraduate students are eligible for the academic honors list when carrying a minimum of six credit hours in the fall, spring or summer semester and maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5 and no single grade below a B-.
