Youngsters attend Junior Emergency Responder Academy

North Whitehall emergency service volunteers recently gave a bit more of their time to show township youngsters what it is like to be a volunteer firefighter, EMT or police officer.

The kids and the volunteers recently attended a four-day camp called the Junior Emergency Responder Academy.

Campers participated in a skill challenge on June 28, the last day of camp, to demonstrate all the skills they learned, including CPR and how to operate a fire hose.

Laurys Station, Neffs, Schnecksville, and Tri-Clover fire companies helped run the event, along with Northern Valley EMS and the South Whitehall Police Department.
