Youngsters attend Junior Emergency Responder Academy

North Whitehall emergency service volunteers recently gave a bit more of their time to show township youngsters what it is like to be a volunteer firefighter, EMT or police officer.

The kids and the volunteers attended a four-day camp called the Junior Emergency Responder Academy.

Campers participated in a skill challenge June 28, the last day of camp to demonstrate all the skills they learned, including CPR and how to operate a fire hose.

Laurys Station, Neffs, Schnecksville and Tri-Clover fire companies helped run the event, along with the Northern Valley EMS and South Whitehall Police Department.
