Lehigh County Conservation District is pleased to announce it has placed the Post Construction Stormwater Management (PCSM) maintenance guide for operating and maintaining Best Management Practices (BMPs) on its website.
For those who have rain gardens, seepage pits or similar things on your property, this booklet is for you. The booklet tells you why stormwater BMPs are necessary but also goes over how they should be maintained.
Visit lehighconservation.org, and click on “Water Quality.” Under that you will see “NPDES Permit Forms & Documents.” At the bottom of that page is a list under “DEP Miscellaneous Forms/Links.” Click on “Stormwater PCSM BMP Maintenance.”
This is not only important for homeowners who own these BMPs but for organizations that are responsible for inspecting them and ensuring compliance. It includes nonstructural BMPs such as landscape restoration, minimize compaction and revegetate/reforest, as well as most structural BMPs.
