PPL Electric Utilities has notified Upper Macungie police utility workers will begin upgrading power lines in the township and other municipalities this month.

According to PPL, this project will improve electric service and reliability throughout the region.

Construction will take place on PPL property and will include the use of helicopters and heavy construction equipment.

Work will continue until the end of the year.

Police and PPL ask that workers be given space and not be approached for safety reasons.
