Craig Andrews
Craig Andrews, 68, of Alburtis, died suddenly during the early morning July 7, 2019, two days after celebrating his 68th birthday with his wife of 44 years, Faith Caroline (Stoneback) Andrews. Hours before he was stricken in his Alburtis home, he spent the last Saturday morning of his life in a fashion typical to Craig – walking his dogs and lending a hand to family members as they packed up for their annual beach vacation.
A lifelong Alburtis resident, he was the son of the late Russell and Lillian (Conrad) Andrews. He worked for Mack Trucks soon after graduating from Emmaus High School in 1969 and remained at Mack until his retirement in 2017.
A spiritual man, he had a special affinity for the outdoors and enjoyed his woodland home and the deer and other wildlife that visited. Nine years ago, upon the death of his mother-in-law, Jean Stoneback, he took over the care of her flock of chickens which has grown throughout the years. He had a deep appreciation of Native American culture.
During a downturn in the Mack Trucks’ production schedule, he earned an associate degree in electronics from Lincoln Technical Institute and provided technical assistance to The Media People, Inc., on video shoots for various commercial clients in locations across the country.
Family and friends remember his warmth, patience, gentle nature and sense of humor. His lifelong love affair with his wife, Faith, was evidenced in the messages he left in her luggage when she traveled away from home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Noah; daughter, Jodi Spamberger; grandson, Lucien Christman; granddaughter, Daphne; sisters, Jo Kish (husband, Michael), Carol (companion, Eric Lerch); Kelly (companion, Tom Farnschlader); nieces and nephews; Stoneback and DeIaco in-laws.
While he is gone from our presence, he lives in the hearts of those he loved. A celebration in honor of his life will be held 2 p.m. Sept. 1 in the field of 556 Franklin St., Alburtis. All who knew him are welcome to join his family and share memories of a very special man. In the event of rain, the event will be held at Lockridge Church, on the corner of Church and Franklin streets, in Alburtis.
