The family splash and dance night at Coplay’s Parkway Pool, originally scheduled for July 18 but canceled because of weather, is now set for 6:30-9 p.m. July 25.
Freddie Fredericks Jr. will provide the music, games and prizes.

Coplay Garden Club meets 7 p.m. July 25 at St. John’s Lutheran Church social hall, 18 S. Third St.

Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association is launching its annual fund drive, which will run through August.
While not setting a specific goal, the association said fliers are going out to residents to explain what its programs and projects do for the community. The yearly campaign funds the community Halloween parade, Christmas tree lighting and holiday program, food bank, school bags and supplies, Easter egg hunt and more.

Commitment to Family & Community, 165 Cherry St., reports it will resume its monthly all-you-can-eat breakfasts in September.

American Club of Coplay will also resume its popular hoagie sales in September.

The heat wave over the past weekend had the pool staff enticing families and individuals to cool off by lowering the daily admission fee.
There were other people in the borough checking on seniors in the neighborhoods to ensure they have fans or air conditioners to keep cool. Some people even did grocery shopping for the seniors.
