LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Camp Jefferson: Campers have fun at Freefall

With another week down, week five seemed to be the hottest week yet! Our theme this week was sports.

At Camp Jefferson, our campers were able to enjoy the heat and stay hydrated, while having a great time. With the weather on our side, the campers were able to enjoy dodgeball at the basketball courts, Capture the Flag, and when it got too hot, we played Shipwrecked inside, which always seems to be a camp favorite.

As Tuesday approached, we sat inside to beat some of the heat by having arts and crafts out for the campers. They were able to enjoy making string bracelets and drawing pictures for the counselors as well as their friends.

Camp Jefferson was able to join Camp Cementon for Wednesday’s field trip of the week to Freefall. Freefall is the Lehigh Valley’s largest indoor trampoline park. The campers were able to socialize with their friends from both camps and have a fun-filled day of jumping and beating the 90-degree heat.

With Freefall’s newest addition of a ropes course that is suspended 10 feet off the ground, campers and counselors alike were brave enough to try it. Just as the day came to an end, the campers met back together to embrace the heat at the Jefferson pool.

Thursday was a rainy, muggy day, but that didn’t stop Jefferson campers from enjoying their craft. This week’s craft included Mason jars and mini canvases for the campers to paint their favorite sports team on - or whatever else they wanted to paint. When the campers finished the craft, they had free time just in time for the sun to come out for a few games of Four Square before lunch.

As Friday came around, campers were eager to be dressed in their favorite sports jerseys. Campers were able to wear any jersey they had and embrace their favorite teams or players.

The Campers of the Week were Desiree L. and Elijah F. Congratulations!

We can’t wait for another fabulous upcoming week.
